Evidence-Based
Coastal Speech Therapy designs therapy programs that are backed by evidence and ongoing professional development.

Family-centred
We work together with families and carers to best support our clients. We believe that families should be key facilitators of their own therapy journey.

Collaborative
We want you to feel supported, listened to and involved in every step of the way. We work together with our clients, families, carers, schools, teachers and other health professionals to build and achieve goals together.

Accessible
We believe that accessibility should never prevent a person from receiving the speech therapy they need! This is why we provide easily accessible services that are convenient for our clients, by coming directly to them.
How We Help
Speech
We can help clients with difficulties producing accurate sounds in the speech to speak more clearly and be better understood.
Language
We can help children develop and reach language milestones to communicate more meaningfully and informatively through their words and sentences.
Fluency
We can help clients that stutter or have difficulties with their rate or rhythm of speech, to speak more smoothly and fluently through therapy.
Voice
We help our clients with voice disorders support and improve their voice quality by teaching them voice strategies.
Reading
We help develop and strengthen our clients’ reading and reading comprehension skills through targeted therapy
Writing
We help develop and strengthen our clients’ writing and spelling skills to support their academic development and functional task needs.
Social Skills
We teach our clients social skills strategies so they can more effectively take part in conversations, discussions, make requests, protests, comments and ask questions in their home, school, workplace and community.
Developmental Diagnoses
We assist clients with communication disorders or difficulties that are associated with developmental diagnoses. These diagnoses may include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability.
Acquired Diagnoses
We assist clients with communication disorders or difficulties that are associated with Acquired diagnoses. These diagnoses may include but are not restricted to Post-stroke Aphasia, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Alexia and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Parents may find it difficult to ascertain when their child needs professional help, specifically from a speech pathologist.

Breaking Down the Stigma of Seeing a Speech Pathologist
Speech pathologists deal with a wide range of issues affecting the way people talk, listen, and communicate. In addition to helping people with their verbal communication (through speech and language), they also work with those who struggle with swallowing, cognition and voice disorders.

The Importance of a Speech Pathologist for Adults

This can look different for each person with communication difficulties and this may be caused by various factors such as language barriers, hearing impairments, or associated acquired diagnoses that may impact communication.
